WHAT	Motorbike caught fire after balloon cluster exploded in Hai Phong
WHEN – WHERE – WHO	At around 8:00 AM on February 4, 2025, in Minh Duc Town, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City.
WHY – HOW	A motorbike carrying a large cluster of balloons was traveling on the road when the driver lost control and crashed into a median barrier. The strong impact caused the balloons to explode and catch fire instantly. The possible cause was that the balloons were filled with hydrogen gas, which, when subjected to strong friction during the collision, ignited into flames. Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries and was not in life-threatening condition. Nearby residents used fire extinguishers to put out the flames.
DAMAGE	The balloon cluster was completely burned, and the motorbike was severely damaged.
LESSON LEARNT	Never use hydrogen to fill balloons. Avoid transporting oversized items on vehicles that are not designed for them, as they can make it difficult to maintain balance while moving.
