Launching the 2026 Project “SAFETY ASU in Operation and Maintenance”
With the approval of the Department of Foreign Affairs – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on July 03, 2026, AIGA VN, in collaboration with the Vietnam Chemicals Agency, organized a Seminar titled “SAFETY IN AIR SEPARATION UNIT (ASU) OPERATIONS AND BUILDING SAFETY CULTURE IN THE WORKPLACE” at Kimdo Royal Hotel – 133 Nguyen Hue, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- The seminar focuses on sharing in-depth knowledge and practical experiences regarding Safety in Air Separation Unit (ASU) Operations — which is considered the “heart” of industrial gas production facilities. The program provides comprehensive analyses of main hazards and prevention associated with high-pressure and cryogenic systems, gas leakage, freezing, fire/explosion hazards, and Total Hydrocarbons (THC) control in the main condenser.
- Alongside technical solutions, the seminar specifically introduces and guides the implementation of “Building a Safety Culture in the Workplace“, analyzing behavior-driven mechanisms to enhance practical safety awareness among employees, thereby helping businesses optimize operational efficiency, prevent accidents, and protect people and assets.
The Seminar featured opening remarks by Mr. Phan Chi Nhan– Head of Chemical Incident Response and Environmental Department, Vietnam Chemicals Agency (VINACHEMIA), and Mr. Kazuyuki Fujimoto, Board Member of AIGA Vietnam.
This was followed by technical presentations and a Q&A session. The technical presentations were delivered by experts from AIGA VN member companies and Safety Consultant:
-
@ Le Van Dong (Air Liquide VN)
-
@ Tran Van Tinh (Sing Industrial Gas VN)
-
and an expert from TLV Consulting Company: @ Quan Hong Duc.
The seminar attracted 48 participants, including HSE professionals, individuals involved in Production, Maintenance, Logistic, Customer Service, and Corporate Management from AIGA VN member companies, as well as relevant domestic companies
Three topics and three content areas were presented during the seminar:

Effective
- Seminar Content meets the audience’s goals
- The quality of presentation and speakers is very good, presented clearly and easy to understand.
- Please continue to maintain and organize more knowledge sharing webinars.
- The presentation content is very useful for the work of attendees.
- Animated AI videos present emergency scenarios and appropriate response instructions in an engaging way, making them easy to remember and apply.
- Notably, the presentation on “Building a Safety Culture in the Workplace” delivered by expert Quan Hong Duc provided clear, concrete analyses and guidance, helping audiences grasp the core nature of “Safety Culture” and how to establish it within their organizations to enhance awareness and minimize incidents
- The interactive Q&A session on ASU operational safety and safety culture building was highly lively and effective. AIGA VN posed key questions regarding hazards handling processes and behavioral risk management, and the audience submitted responses in real time via an online platform displayed on screen for open discussion.
- Most notably, representatives from the industrial gas industry and leaders from the Vietnam Chemicals Agency responded directly to challenging practical questions, including appropriate actions during THC surges in the main condenser, regulations on bund walls for liquid gas storage tanks, the mandatory use of non-sparking tools, and methods to encourage long-term employees to voluntarily comply with safety rules. This session successfully bridged the gap between theory and practice while reinforcing a practical safety culture across the community
