Safe Cylinder Handling

AIGA VN and the Department of Work Safety (“DWS”) coordinated to organize a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City to share basic knowledge, experience and propagate instructions on safe operation with gas cylinder

The speakers presented at the seminar were Experts in the gas cylinder from AIGA’s headquarters in Singapore, they are now members of AIGA’s Package Gas Work Group including Mr. Yogesh Sharma – Manager of Gas Supply Engineering of Nippon Sanso Holding Singapore; and Mr. Kok Khoon Toh – Head of Package Gas Supply Chain-SEA Cluster – Air Liquide Singapore

The purpose of this seminar was to improve the basic knowledge of safety in storing, handling and transporting high pressure gas cylinders; Instructions for checking gas cylinder before and after filling. Prevention of accidents and incidents in the process of working with high pressure gas cylinders.

Also at this seminar, AIGA VN honored and thanked the members of the Technical Committee of AIGA VN for their voluntary contributions to AIGA VN’s activities. Especially, the 2022 dedication award was presented to Mr. Vu Minh Hoang – Leader of the Technical Committee, for his great contributions.

The seminar was held at Kim Do Hotel – (Royal Saigon Hotel) at 133 Nguyen Hue, District 1 – Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of March 7, 2023 with the presence of 95 guests from DWS , members of AIGA VN, foreign speakers and representatives of companies operating in the field of industrial gases such as production, trading, transportation, use, etc.

Especially with the presence of Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien – Deputy Manager of Technical Division under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) – is currently a partner of AIGA VN and also a representative for the management agency on high pressure gas cylinders in Vietnam. Mr. Tien gave a speech on the benefits of cooperation between AIGA VN and DWS, and highly appreciated the role of AIGA VN in the cooperation between the two sides and promote the awareness for employees and employers who are working in the industrial gas field, aiming to reduce accidents and build a safety culture in the industrial gas industry

This seminar was successfully and received positive feedback from attendees, some comments as follows:

• AIGA VN has cooperated and consulted to adjust the gas cylinder inspection process. It has been issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Circular No. 17/2021/LDTBXH issued on November 15, 2021
• This seminar provides a full knowledge of using equipment safely. So, it should regularly organize seminars like this to improve the ability to operate equipment and tools in the factory and the place of use.
• This seminar help to improve knowledge and safety awareness. It will be share/re-train to colleagues for working safely to avoid incident/accident
• These presentation are good /useful document to train on the person who works with cylinder.
• Need to organize more seminars with more topics
